Saint Paul Institute Celebrates World Tourism Day 2023 in Collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism in Cambodia on September 27, 2023

In a vibrant celebration of World Tourism Day 2023, Saint Paul Institute (SPI) is joining hands with the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia to foster the spirit of exploration and education among its tourism students. This collaborative effort aims to prepare students for an enriching study tour scheduled for sustainable tourism in Cambodia.

World Tourism Day is an annual event that encourages global awareness of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political, and economic impact. This year, SPI is taking the celebration a step further by partnering with the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia to provide its students with exceptional learning experiences. The collaboration includes a series of events and activities designed to highlight the significance of tourism in Cambodia and globally. Private sector tourism and entrepreneurs also shared their perspectives on why it is necessary to work in the tourism business in various fields. Experts from the Ministry of Tourism shared insights into the country’s rich cultural heritage, its diverse attractions, the economic benefits derived from the tourism industry, and the potential of tourism in Cambodia.

The preparation of SPI’s tourism students for a forthcoming study trip is the focus of the celebration. This hands-on experience will allow them to apply classroom theory to real-world circumstances, giving them a valuable chance for practical learning and skill development. The study tour, scheduled for September 2023, will take students to significant tourist locations in Cambodia, including the hotel and historical sectors, giving them an inside look at how the business operates. From historical sites to natural wonders, the study tour aims to broaden students’ perspectives, improve their understanding of tourist management, and foster a profound appreciation for their own country’s cultural and natural treasures.

SPI is dedicated to developing well-rounded tourism professionals, and this collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism matches with the institute’s commitment to offering comprehensive education. SPI hopes that by actively participating in World Tourism Day 2023, it will instill in its students a feeling of responsibility for sustainable tourism practices, community engagement, and cultural heritage preservation.

Saint Paul Institute looks forward to seeing the positive impact of this collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and other sectors to aid students in their academic and personal growth when they start on their study tour. Through such initiatives, SPI continues to contribute to the growth of the tourism sector in Cambodia and prepares its students to become future leaders and advocates for responsible and sustainable tourism.
