Welcome To the Department of Tourism Management!

Dear prospective students,
My name is Ya Prum, and I am the Head of the Department of Tourism Management at Saint Paul Institute. It is my great pleasure to warmly welcome all students who are interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management at Saint Paul Institute.
Studying tourism does not simply mean learning about travel or welcoming guests. It is about understanding people, cultures, economics, management, service, leadership, communication, and the creation of meaningful and memorable experiences for visitors. One of the unique features of studying tourism is the combination of academic knowledge and practical experience.
Students have opportunities to develop foreign-language skills, communicate with people from diverse backgrounds, respect and appreciate others, and build their careers from entry-level positions to higher professional and managerial levels.
Throughout the program, students can also participate in academic events such as students exchange, local/international workshops, internships, volunteer activities, and various tourism-related activities organized by the Department of Tourism Management. These experiences allow you to apply what you learn in the classroom to real-world situations and gradually build the knowledge, skills, confidence, and professional networks needed for your future career.
As a manager and educator in the tourism and hospitality field, I personally believe that studying for a bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management does more than open the door to employment. It also gives you the opportunity to discover a wider world, broaden your perspectives, and develop yourself into a valuable and responsible member of society. Finally, I would like to encourage you to consider studying tourism if you enjoy communicating with people, have a passion for serving others, are interested in discovering new cultures, and aspire to work in an international environment.
Once again, welcome to the Department of Tourism Management at Saint Paul Institute. We will provide the best education, growing, and building a successful future together with you.
Thank you very much!
