PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA, On July 10, 2026, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC) welcomed a distinguished delegation of 79 management members and Information Technology (IT) students from Saint Paul Institute (SPI), for an official study visit focused on the development, strategic direction, and practical achievements of Cambodia’s rapidly evolving technology sector.
During the opening speech, Dr. Phon Sophal, Director of Saint Paul Institute, delivered the welcoming remarks and presented an insightful summary report on the academic mission of the institute. He emphasized Saint Paul Institute’s rigorous curriculum structure, underlining that every student’s educational journey is firmly grounded in strong theoretical knowledge coupled with hands-on practical application, structured industry internships, and the successful defense of a final graduation thesis. This comprehensive framework ensures that graduates are thoroughly equipped with both academic understanding and ready for market technical skills.
Addressing the delegation, His Excellency Mao Sela, undersecretary of state, provided an in-depth overview of the national digital ecosystem and recent developmental milestones achieved under the strategic directives of the Royal Government of Cambodia. H.E. Mao Sela highlighted key ongoing initiatives, including the comprehensive enhancement of mobile network coverage and high-speed internet infrastructure across the Kingdom, targeted human resource development programs aimed at cultivating digital talent, and the deployment of robust public digital platforms.
The engagement between ministry officials, faculty, and students served as a vital bridge connecting academic instruction with frontline industry practice. By offering first-hand exposure to state-level telecommunication infrastructure and policy execution, the study visit significantly broadened the students’ perspectives, showcasing a diverse range of promising career paths and opportunities emerging within Cambodia’s expanding digital economy. Saint Paul Institute students who graduated from IT always got a job 100% after graduating.
