On July 1, 2026, students and staff from the Department of Social Work of Saint Paul Institute conducted an insightful study visit to Hope Kids Special Education School, a dedicated educational institution specializing in the development, education, and support of children with autism.

The primary objective of this study visit was to bridge academic theory with real-world practice. During the visit, students had the valuable opportunity to observe specialized teaching methodologies, learn about tailored care strategies, and gain direct practical experience in supporting children on the autism spectrum. Engaging directly with experienced educators and practitioners allowed the students to deepen their understanding of neurodiversity, family support systems, and the crucial role social workers play in inclusive education environments.

In addition to providing an enriching educational experience, the visit paved the way for professional growth. Recognizing the dedication and potential of the visiting group, the director of Hope Kids Special Education School generously offered fourth-year social work students the opportunity to undertake professional internships at the school. Furthermore, the director highlighted that students who successfully complete their internships may be considered for full-time employment as permanent staff members at Hope Kids.
