Saint Paul Institute Welcomes Indonesian Ambassador for Public Lecture on Regional Cooperation.

On 9 December 2025, Saint Paul Institute (SPI) had the great honor of welcoming His Excellency Dr. Santo Darmosumarto, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Cambodia. His Excellency delivered a public lecture to 125 students of Saint Paul Institute on the theme:
“Strengthening Bilateral Relations, Navigating Regional Challenges.”

In his welcome remarks, Dr. Phon Sophal, Director of Saint Paul Institute, expressed his strong belief that the program would provide SPI students with valuable insights into Indonesia’s rich culture, strengthen regional friendship, and equip all participating students with essential skills for future cooperation, especially between the two nations. He emphasized that such engagements play an important role in preparing young people to contribute meaningfully to ASEAN’s shared development and serve as opportunities to learn from one another.

His Excellency Dr. Santo Darmosumarto expressed his happiness and admiration for Saint Paul Institute’s ongoing contribution to Cambodian society through the provision of quality higher education. He highlighted the long-standing relationship between Indonesia and Cambodia, rooted in cultural exchange, mutual respect, and regional collaboration. The Ambassador encouraged students from both countries especially those from Saint Paul Institute to continue fostering this friendship through student exchanges, cultural programs, and academic collaboration, which he described as key pathways to ensuring strong, long-term cooperation not only between the two nations but also among their educational institutions. He also shared information about scholarship opportunities available for students to pursue studies at various universities in Indonesia.
